Denbighshire County Council has carried out a feasibility study to identify options to improve a stretch of the A547, known locally as the Abergele Straights
The Council is aware of concerns in the community about the condition of the route which links Abergele to the outskirts of Rhuddlan and made a successful bid to Welsh Government for funding to carry out the study. It is now considering options for active travel (walking and cycling) which in turn could allow significant improvements and layout to the carriageway. This will be dependent on the significant level of necessary funding being made available.
Residents are also being informed that the road will be closed for two nights in June, to allow maintenance work to take place. Further details of these road closures will be issued nearer the time. In the meantime, the Council will continue to visit the road, to address any pothole issues as they arise.
