Extensive works to upgrade swimming facilities at Denbigh Leisure Centre have been completed, as the programme of investment in Denbighshire’s leisure facilities continues.
In response to customer feedback, this significant investment into the popular facility will provide vastly improved changing spaces for all swimmers and a completely refurbished pool hall. Work commenced mid-October, and has seen full upgrades to both male, female and accessible changing rooms, including new wall tiles, ceilings, flooring and cubicles. A fully accessible changing facility has also been created with direct access onto poolside.
The pool hall itself has been fully refreshed, including installation of a ‘state of the art’ stretch ceiling and compete retiling. New energy efficient LED lighting has been fitted, a new pool hoist installed and the spectator area improved, doubling the previous capacity.
In addition to these improvements, there have been a number of other projects undertaken within the Centre, including a new GP referral consultation area, to further improve the experience for our exercise referral customers.
Councillor Huw Jones, Cabinet Lead Member for Leisure, said: “We are delighted that the work is complete and we are now ready to welcome new and existing customers to our pool where we offer a variety of activities, including both adult and junior swimming lessons, aqua aerobics, parent & toddler sessions, public swimming sessions, schools swimming, and swimming club.
“In recent years we have been pleased to have been able to provide a new studio, expanded fitness gym, a brand new Artificial Turf Pitch and now improved aquatic provision at Denbigh Leisure Centre. All of this has happened as a result of increased demand and as a service we are delighted to be able to meet the growing needs of our customers and to continue to provide excellent facilities for the communities that we serve.”
