Plans to refurbish and modernise Denbigh Library and One Stop Shop have been given the green light after a successful application for a £120,000 grant from the Welsh Government.
The Council is now in a position to start work, in collaboration with MALD (Museums, Archives and Libraries Division of the Welsh Government). The building will be closed from Monday, February 26th.
The work will include extensive redecoration works to create an attractive, open access and flexible space for a modern library and one stop shop service.
Whilst maintaining the character of this iconic historic building, improvements will include an upgraded Tourist Information area, new dedicated IT/Learning zone, new modern shelving, furniture and flooring, with a dedicated free wi-fi relaxed area for customers.
The work will enable Denbigh Library and One Stop Shop to share resources and assets for the community benefit to deliver more services from one location, including a range of shared information and advice services in collaboration with partner services, including education and learning facilities, health and wellbeing support”.
The Council is currently planning for a temporary location to provide library and one stop shop services in the town during the refurbishment period and details will be announced shortly.
The Council would like to thank people for their patience and for their support and co-operation during the works.
