A significant programme of continued investment in leisure facilities across Denbighshire is gathering pace, with the latest improvement project underway at Llangollen Leisure Centre.
The latest upgrade at the centre is focusing on the fitness suite, including the introduction of brand new Technogym cardio equipment, complete with Wellness cloud technology which can allow people to watch videos and programmes whilst they train. The suite will also be given a make-over, with complete redecoration and new flooring installed.
The fitness suite is currently closed to customers but is due to re-open shortly. Those wanting to access other fitness suites can do so at any Denbighshire leisure centre, including neighbouring Corwen.
Class programmes at Llangollen are continuing as normal.
Councillor Bobby Feeley, Cabinet Lead Member for Well-being and Independence, said: “We are truly proud of our track record in investing in our leisure facilities, at a time when many other councils are considering closing such facilities.
“We recognise the benefits of our facilities to improving health and well-being of our residents through making our communities resilient and there is a clear demand out there for our facilities – that is why our investment is continuing.
“We are delighted that the work at Llangollen is taking shape and look forward to welcoming fitness suite users, old and new to access the state of the art facilities that are being installed.
“This development is another piece of the jig-saw which is seeing significant investments in leisure facilities, including the flagship Rhyl Waterpark which is due to open in early 2019”.
This follows the recent investment in Corwen’s 3G pitch and fitness suite. Other developments are being planned for the Dee Valley towards the end of 2018. Details will be announced shortly.
