Staff from Denbighshire County Council have been working with colleagues from the emergency services this afternoon responding to reports of flash flooding in northern parts of the county.
A significant amount of rain fell in the torrential storms over a short period of time, resulting in flash flooding,
predominantly in the Rhyl, Prestatyn, Rhuddlan and St Asaph areas.
The torrential storms have now moved north and flood water levels are now dropping in the area.
Both Ysgol Clawdd Offa, Prestatyn and Prestatyn High School will be closed on Thursday following problems with flooding.
Prestatyn Leisure Centre will be closed this evening due to problems with flooding. There were also issues with flooding at Nova, Prestatyn; Rhyl Leisure Centre and the North Wales Bowls Centre.
Whilst the rain has stopped, the Council is advising people to remain vigilant and to follow any further advice and information provided through weather forecasts.
