The Met Office and Denbighshire County Council are looking for two new voluntary weather station observers, to be based in Prestatyn.
The Met Office is the UK’s National Meteorological Service and is responsible for providing climate and weather forecasting in the UK.
The role of the observers is to gather and collate data for the National Archive for Climate. Prestatyn is part of a network of manually read stations throughout the UK who take daily climate readings and report them to the Met Office.
The volunteers would join a team to undertake these readings one or two days per week on a rota basis. The people we are looking for would preferably have an interest in this area and be able to spare approximately 30 minutes once or twice a week to take readings at around 9am.
If you are interested in applying to become an unpaid volunteer at Prestatyn Weather Station please contact Sion Goldsmith at Denbighshire County Council on 01824 712725, or e-mail email@example.com
