A Denbighshire school is calling for support as it bids for a share of community funds being made available nationally.
Ysgol Bro Famau (which has sites in Llanferres and Llanarmon yn Ial) has applied for a £5,000 award from the Aviva Community Fund. The funding would be used to develop an outdoor learning area at both sites.
The Aviva Community Fund will finance over 500 projects across four different fund levels and four categories, giving awards to communities throughout the UK. There are 48 sets of £5,000 awards up for grabs and the finalists will be decided by a public vote.
Headteacher Elizabeth Knight said: “We are a small school and will be up against much bigger projects. We have a number of votes already registered, which is great, but we would ask people to go on their website and support our bid. It only takes a few minutes to vote, so please ask your partners, families, neighbours and friends to get behind Bro Famau’s bid.
“This initiative could make a great difference to the surroundings for current pupils, as well as future generations”.
To register your vote, please visit: www.community-fund.aviva.co.uk Voting closes on November 21st , with the finalists then announced on November 28th.
