Drift Park Water Play Area, Rhyl

The Drift Park Water Play Area is a family attraction that provides a fun alternative to the beach, with a paddling pool and water fountains.

Our staff and Lifeguards operate the pool during the season at the times stated below.

Opening times

27th May - 4th June  7 days a week 11am - 4.30pm
5th June - 16th July Weekends only 11am - 4.30pm
17th July - 3rd September  7 days a week 11am - 5.30pm

Opening times are weather dependent.  If the weather is exceptionally good the park will stay open longer.  If the weather is very poor, then the park may close earlier.

An admission fee is payable for entry into Drift Park Water Play Area. Wrist bands are provided which must be worn at all times and allow entry in and out of the facility for the day.

  • £2.00 per person including spectators
  • Under 6 months old – free
  • Families of 4 or more – 1 person goes free

The Drift Park Water Play Area has an admission policy in place, so that all our customers can use the facilities in a safe, enjoyable environment.

1.A charging policy is in place – including spectators, please wear your wristbands at all times, and retain your receipt for proof of admission. Persons wearing a wristband will be allowed to re-enter the facility on the same day of purchase.

2.Children under the age of eight will only be admitted to the Play Area if they are accompanied by a responsible adult (over 16).

3.Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied into the water by a responsible adult (over 16). This means that the accompanying adult can have in their care, in the water

  • Up to three children aged between 4 and 7
  • Or two children under the age of eight, where one or both may be under the age of 4.

4.Non-swimmers are advised to wear approved swimming aids such as armbands. To prevent any accidents, babies should wear a suitable swimming nappy.

5.Please ensure that you wear clothing, or swimming garments at all times.

6.Unfortunately, for safety and hygiene reasons, dogs are not allowed in the facility.

7.Please inform us if you have any illness or disability that may affect you, or your ability to swim during your visit.

8.In the interests of safety, we cannot allow anyone into the pool if we believe they are under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

9.For safeguarding reasons, the taking of still images or video is not permitted.

10.General safety advice on using the facility is given on our information boards near to each entrance. Please look at these before using the facility.

11.As a Denbighshire County Council managed site, smoking is prohibited within and around the immediate vicinity of the facility.

12. Refunds will NOT be given due to poor or inclement weather. Refunds are only available when a technical issue has forced the closer of the pool.

The Management reserves the right to refuse admission or expel persons, if their condition or conduct may cause a risk to the safety and enjoyment of others.

Sun loungers and deckchairs 

While you're at the Drift Water Park, you can hire sun loungers and deckchairs from the lifeguard station.  The hire costs are below:

  • Sun loungers: £3 hire fee plus £2 refundable deposit
  • Deckchairs: £2 hire fee plus £2 refundable deposit

Smoking is not allowed at the Drift Water Park.
