Consultation on Local Development Plan Review Report and Draft Delivery Agreement for the Replacement LDP

The Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 requires Local Planning Authorities to review their Local Development Plans (LDP) regularly. A formal review must take place every four years. The Denbighshire Local Development Plan was adopted in 2013 and the Review has commenced in 2017.

The Council is currently consulting on the Review Report which sets out how the current Local Development Plan (2006-2021) has performed, and highlights any areas which indicate that a replacement Local Development Plan is required. LDP performance and evidence is drawn from previously produced Annual Monitoring Reports and topic-based papers, which are attached as appendices to the LDP Review Report. You are invited to comment on the Review Report and appendices. Copies of the documents can be accessed via the Denbighshire website, copies are also available at all Denbighshire libraries and One-Stop Shops. The LDP Review Report highlights the need for a replacement Local Development Plan to be prepared for the period 2021 onwards. The first stage in this process is to prepare and consult on a Delivery Agreement for the replacement Denbighshire Local Development Plan. The Delivery Agreement sets out the timetable for the preparation of the replacement Local Development Plan and also how the Council will consult at the various stages. The Council is also consulting on the Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report for the replacement Local Development Plan. You are invited to comment on the Delivery Agreement and Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report. Please be aware that this consultation is limited to comments on the LDP Review Report and the Delivery Agreement. It is not an opportunity to comment on the existing Local Development Plan; to submit land for consideration for inclusion or to state any changes you may want to see made in the replacement Local Development Plan. This will come at a later stage.
