Christmas and New Year information

There are changes to some bin collection dates over the Christmas and New Year period:

Household waste collections (recycling, food, non-recyclable waste, AHP (Absorbent Hygiene Products))

Over the Christmas and New Year period, the following changes will be made to household waste collections, some collection days have changed:

  • Monday 22 December 2025 will be collected on Saturday 20 December 2025.
  • Tuesday 23 December 2025 will be collected on Monday 22 December 2025.
  • Wednesday 24 December 2025 will be collected on Tuesday 23 December 2025.
  • Thursday 25 December 2025 will be collected on Wednesday 24 December 2025.
  • Friday 26 December 2025 no change (normal collection day).
  • Monday 29 December 2025 no change (normal collection day).
  • Tuesday 30 December 2025 no change (normal collection day).
  • Wednesday 31 December 2025 no change (normal collection day).
  • Thursday 1 January 2026 will be collected on Saturday 3 January 2026.
  • Friday 2 January 2026 no change (normal collection day).
  • Saturday 3 January 2026 will be collected on Thursday 1 January 2026.

Please make sure your containers are out by 6:30am.

Normal collections resume from Monday 5 January 2026.

Commercial waste and recycling collections

The following changes will be made to commercial waste collections over the Christmas and New Year period:

  • Monday 22 December 2025 will be collected on Saturday 20 December 2025.
  • Tuesday 23 December 2025 will be collected on Monday 22 December 2025.
  • Wednesday 24 December 2025 will be collected on Tuesday 23 December 2025.
  • Thursday 25 December 2025 will be collected on Wednesday 24 December 2025.
  • Friday 26 December 2025 no change (normal collection day).
  • Monday 29 December 2025 no change (normal collection day).
  • Tuesday 30 December 2025 no change (normal collection day).

Over the Christmas and New Year period, the following changes will be made to garden waste collections:

  • Monday 22 December 2025 will be collected on Saturday 20 December 2025.
  • Tuesday 23 December 2025 will be collected on Monday 22 December 2025.
  • Wednesday 24 December 2025 will be collected on Tuesday 23 December 2025.
  • Thursday 25 December 2025 will be collected on Wednesday 24 December 2025.
  • Friday 26 December 2025 no change (normal collection day).
  • Monday 29 December 2025 no change (normal collection day).
  • Tuesday 30 December 2025 no change (normal collection day).
  • Wednesday 31 December 2025 no change (normal collection day).
  • Thursday 1 January 2026 will be collected on Saturday 3 January 2026.
  • Friday 2 January 2026 no change (normal collection day).
  • Saturday 3 January 2026 will be collected on Thursday 1 January 2026.

Please make sure your bin is out by 6:30am.

Normal collections resume from Monday 5 January 2026.

Garden waste subscriptions

We will be closing our garden waste subscriptions for the current subscription period (2025/26) at 5pm on Friday 19 December 2025. You will no longer be able to subscribe after this date.

Subscriptions will then reopen on 12 January 2026 for the subscription period (2026/2027) which runs from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027.

Recycling and waste collections

On your scheduled collection day, please make sure your containers are at your collection point by 6:30am. We may collect your containers at any time on your collection day up until 5pm, so please leave your containers out until then. 

Missed refuse collections

Please do not report a missed refuse collection until after 5pm on your collection day as our crews may still be out collecting up until this time. Find out more about missed refuse collections.

Bin collections don't change on bank holidays except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.

When are my bin collection dates?

To find your next bin collection day, please enter your postcode in the search box below and click "View bin collections". 

What time should I put my bins out?

Your bins should be placed on the kerbside by 6:30am.

If you do not place your containers out for collection before 6:30am or put your containers out on the wrong day, you'll need to either: 

If you have placed your bin out for collection and it has not been emptied, please check to see if there is a contamination tag or sticker on your bin. If there is, we will not return to empty your bin.

Please note that we keep a record of bins that have not been presented and that are contaminated.

In the case that you believe our crew have accidently missed your bin, you can report a missed collection online.
