Single person discount review
We are reviewing the single person discounts currently in place on council tax accounts across Denbighshire.
The review is being undertaken by an Income and Awards Review Team on our behalf and will make sure that account holders are still entitled to the discount.
Review letters
Review letters will be sent to council tax account holders who currently receive a single person discount asking them to confirm whether they are still entitled to the reduction. The letter will also contain a unique PIN number to use when texting their response or to use with the Single Person Discount Review online form.
If you do not respond to the review letter within 14 days, we will withdraw the discount from your account and issue a new bill.
How to confirm your details
You can confirm whether you are still entitled to a single person discount by one of the following methods:
You only need to confirm your details through one method.
You will need your unique PIN number to confirm by text. You can find this PIN number on the review letter that was sent to you.
If you are still the sole adult occupant at the property, you will need to text 'your unique PIN number' and 'Yes' to 07975 005001.
If you are no longer the sole adult occupant or have vacated the property, you will need to text 'your unique PIN number' and 'No' to 07975 005001
You will need to enter your unique PIN number to access the Single Person Discount Review online form. You can find this PIN number on the review letter that was sent to you.

When confirming whether you are still entitled to a single person discount, you should be aware that:
- you must always tell us if your circumstances change (this includes telling us about any other people that live at your address)
- we can impose a £70 penalty if you:
- fail to provide the information requested
- supply false information
What to do if you lose your review letter
If you lose the review letter that has your unique PIN number, you can contact us and request for a copy of the letter to be sent, or for us to send you your unique PIN number.
