A Denbighshire resident has praised the support he received from Working Denbighshire, describing the service as “a lifeline” in helping him secure stable employment.

James, now an Administration Officer for Denbighshire County Council’s Social Services, turned to Working Denbighshire after struggling to find work. The service provided him with practical support, including interview preparation and employer connections, helping him land a role that offers him financial security and confidence in his future.

Councillor Jason McLellan, Leader of Denbighshire County Council and Lead Member for Economic Growth & Tackling Deprivation said:

"Working Denbighshire is about creating opportunities and breaking down barriers to employment.

"We want to ensure that everyone in Denbighshire has access to support that can make a real difference in their lives, just like it has for James.

"His story is a fantastic example of how the right support at the right time can transform someone’s future.”

Working Denbighshire provided James with tailored support, including interview coaching and reassurance throughout the process.

James, a previous Working Denbighshire participant said:

“Before being introduced to Working Denbighshire, I did face challenges. It was taking a long time to find a job, and I was worried about paying bills. I wanted that security, a job role I could rely on.

“The team, especially Fiona, was always there for me, if I was struggling or lacking potential interview questions with me. That support made a huge difference. I do feel like I’ve grown as a person since getting this role, I feel a lot more confident now. I’ve got regular money coming in and even started saving, which is ideal.”

Encouraging others to take advantage of the support available, James added: “Working Denbighshire was quite a lifeline, to be honest. I’d recommend anyone who needs a job to get in contact with them.”
