The Council is facing significant financial challenges due to inflationary and service pressures, far outstripping the increase in funding we receive from Welsh Government. The current budget gap for 2024/25 is between £10m and £28m, with further pressures expected in 2025/26.
Services have already been asked for ideas for savings but we also know the wealth and depth of experience that all our staff have and would like to invite you to contribute your ideas for areas of savings or efficiencies that could help contribute to ensuring that the Council can set a balanced budget over the coming years.
The suggestions will be considered by the finance service, Corporate Executive Team (CET) and Cabinet during October and November.
The "Budget Savings: Your Ideas" suggestion scheme has now closed.
