Burials

The traditional cemeteries are classified as lawn type cemeteries. Only headstone memorials are allowed, with a vase placed thereon. Our cemeteries include:

  • Coed Bell, Upper Gronant Road, Prestatyn. 
  • Fron Bache Cemetery, Vicarage Road, Llangollen. 
  • Llanrhydd Cemetery, Llanrhydd, Ruthin. 
  • Maeshyfryd Cemetery, Dyserth Road, Rhyl. 
  • Y Fynwent Newydd, New Road, Rhuddlan. 
  • Y Llwyn Cemetery, Mount Road, St Asaph. 
  • Ystrad Road Cemetery, Ystrad Road, Denbigh.

Also, a closed burial ground is located on Morley Road, Rhyl. 

You can apply for permission for the following at our cemeteries;

  • Place a memorial
  • Place a vase
  • Place a temporary wooden cross
  • Add an inscription

You can apply to have a plaque placed on the memorial wall at Y Fynwent Newydd, Rhuddlan or Maeshyfryd Cemetery, Dyserth Road, Rhyl.

Muslim Burials

There is a Muslim Burial area in Coed Bell Cemetery, Prestatyn.

Headstone Memorials

We only permit BRAMM registered memorial masons to work in our cemeteries. All memorials must be fitted according to the British Standard 8415. Please read the memorial rules for more information.

Woodland Burials

Coed Bell Cemetery, Prestatyn (on a hill above the existing cemetery, overlooking the Irish Sea/Dee Estuary), Denbigh Cemetery, Ystrad Road, (alongside the existing cemetery) and Y Llwyn Cemetery, St Asaph (in a rural setting) have woodland burial areas.  

Other Memorials

Memorial plaques can be placed in a rose bed or on a wall or a tree can be planted with a dedication plaque. Plaques on existing memorial benches can be arranged through the cemeteries officer, dependent on a suitable space being available. No new benches can be placed in the cemeteries. Complete an application form for other memorials.
