Levelling Up Fund: Prestatyn Morfa Nature Park

Project background

Strategically located in central Prestatyn is an outstanding Green Open Space of approx. 60 acres and which consists of a Community Woodland and Wetland. This project provides an opportunity to create a strategic network of accessible routes for pedestrians/cyclists and to allow all residents and visitors to appreciate this outstanding natural resource.

Current position

• A project team is now in place
• Project funding is secured
• Estimated timetable for completion is March 2028
• Concept designs have been drawn up
• Land purchase of additional 5 acres of wetland is near completion
• Ecological surveys are underway

Consultation

• The project was on view at a recent public consultation event held on the 18th September at the Scala Cinema in Prestatyn.
• In July a series of guided walks were conducted to raise awareness of the project and to directly answer any questions.
