Working Denbighshire is inviting adults (aged 16+) to take part in a unique series of creative wellbeing sessions this autumn, where Lego isn’t just for kids.
“Rebuild and Bloom” is a four-week programme of free sessions running every Tuesday afternoon from 12:30 to 2:30pm, starting 16 September until 7 October 2025. The sessions will be delivered at Rhyl Library.
The sessions aim to boost wellbeing, confidence and personal development through the simple but powerful joy of building with Lego.
The sessions will be led by Floss Barrett, a LEGO flower artist whose personal journey of recovery inspired the programme. Floss began building with LEGO following a knife attack that left her with severe injuries to both hands. As part of her physical recovery, she started using LEGO to rebuild strength and mobility in her fingers, but soon discovered it also became a vital tool in rebuilding her wellbeing.
Floss is a passionate volunteer who specialises in Botanical LEGO Flowers and is eager to introduce others to the calm, creativity, and joy this unique hobby can bring.
Councillor Jason McLellan, Leader of Denbighshire County Council and Lead Member for Economic Growth & Tackling Deprivation said:
“Supporting people to feel better, believe in themselves and explore new opportunities is at the heart of everything we do.
"Rebuild and Bloom is a brilliant example of how creativity and connection can inspire people to move forward.”
The initiative is being delivered by Barod, Working Denbighshire and Floss, and supports people to improve their wellbeing, gain confidence, and take steps toward employment or training.
Floss Barrett, Working Denbighshire volunteer said:
“When I was at my lowest, LEGO gave me a place to escape. It became my safe haven, a world where I could just be me. I want others to feel that same calm, focus and creativity. LEGO helped me heal and I truly believe it can help others too.”
The sessions will be relaxed, inclusive, and open to all adults, whether you’re looking to improve your wellbeing, rebuild confidence, or just try something new. No experience is needed, and both Floss and the Working Denbighshire team will be on hand to support attendees throughout.
You can attend just one session or all four, but availability is limited so booking a place is essential. To book your place visit our website.
