For the first time in 4 years, the historic doors of Ruthin Gaol will be open over the Halloween period.

Running from 21st of October until the 4th of November, the Gaol will be open every day from 10:30am until 4pm (Last entry 3pm) for family friendly spooky fun, including free activities for all ages.

These activities include free Halloween themed crafts and trails in the Gaol (normal admissions apply).

The Gaol reopened its doors in April after 2 years of flood renovation works took place, and has seen a record number of attendees pass through its gates, with over 8,000 counted so far.

Philippa Jones, Heritage Site Operations and Development Manager said:

“The whole team is looking forward to be able to open our cell doors once again to welcome brave visitors to the Gaol for family friendly spooky fun. So put on your best Halloween costume and join us if you dare!”

Councillor Emrys Wynne, Lead Member for Welsh Language, Culture & Heritage said:

“It is brilliant news that the Gaol will be opening over the Halloween period, it is a great place to host such an event.

They will be hosting plenty of activities, so I encourage families to come along and join in the fun.”
