About the compost bin

The Komp 320 offers a generous 320 litre capacity and is available now for collection. 

How can I get one?

You can arrange payment and collection by phoning 01824 706000 or by visiting any One Stop Shop. You can collect a composter from the following places:

  • Bodelwyddan
  • Kinmel Park depot
  • Ruthin Lon Parcwr depot
  • Corwen One Stop Shop
  • Llangollen One Stop Shop

Cash payments can be made at Bodelwyddan Kinmel Park depot but not at Ruthin Lon Parcwr.

What goes in the compost bin?

  • vegetable and fruit peelings
  • tea leaves, coffee grounds and crushed egg shells
  • weeds
  • hair
  • paper
  • animal manure
  • evergreen clippings
  • leaves
  • prunings
  • vacuum dust
  • straw and hay
  • grass cuttings

The following items do not compost well and/or can be harmful to the composting process:

  • body fluids
  • disposable nappies
  • used paper handkerchiefs
  • excrement - human/cat/dog
  • brightly coloured or shiny card or paper
  • stones
  • glass
  • metal
  • plastic
  • cleaning fluids and other household/garden chemicals
  • meat
  • diseased plants
