UKSPF project: Queen’s Market Fund

Project lead: Denbighshire County Council
This project is now complete.
Project overview
This project will support the establishment of a new retail market in the Queens Building in Rhyl.
The funding will be applied towards the internal fitout of the main market hall and individual retail business units.
It will largely support small businesses who are looking to establish a footprint within a thriving new market.
The project aims to create a space that will be used by the community and visitors and act as an anchor for increasing footfall into the town centre.
Project update
Final project summary December 2022 to March 2025
This project focused on the fit-out of Rhyl’s Queen’s Market.
The Queen’s Market buildings have been an iconic landmark in the centre of Rhyl since 1902 and have provided a variety of uses for the town throughout the years.
The new development includes 16 individual food and retail units, a double-sided bar and a large events space, and will be an integral community space right in the heart of Rhyl.
