Junior (year 3) school places

You only need to complete this application if your child currently attends an infant school (either St. Asaph Infants or Ysgol Y Parc), and you want to apply for a junior school (either Ysgol Esgob Morgan or Ysgol Frongoch).

Welsh medium education

There's never been a better time to learn Welsh. The Welsh Government has a long-term vision to see the Welsh language thriving, with a million people able to speak Welsh by 2050.

Learning and using the Welsh language offers an educational, cultural and employment advantage.

The closing date for junior (year 3) place applications for children born between 1 September 2016 and 31 August 2017 was 17 November 2023.

If you've already applied, we'll let you know the outcome by 16 April 2024.

Applying after the closing date

If you're applying after the closing date, your application will be processed after all the on-time requests have been dealt with. This means your preferred school may be full by the time we process your application and, for this reason, we recommend that you name more than one preference when applying.

Late applications will be considered together, regardless of date received, against the oversubscription criteria detailed in the Denbighshire Schools guide.

If you make any amendments to an on-time application after the closing date, we will consider this as a new application which will replace anything previously received and will be recorded as late.

Apply for a  junior (year 3) place after the closing date

You must only complete this application if your child was  born between 1 September 2016 and 31 August 2017.

If you are trying to move your child from one school to another, please complete the school transfer application instead.
