Children can attend nursery from the September following their 3rd birthday. Having a place in a nursery class at a particular school does not guarantee your child a place in a reception class at that school, and you will need to make a new application for reception class.
The closing date for nursery place applications for children born between 1 September 2017 and 31 August 2018 was 19 February 2021. If you've applied, we'll let you know the outcome by 7 May 2021.
Applying after the closing date
Late applications are dealt with after the on-time submissions, if you're applying after the closing date, we recommend naming more than one preference as available places may have already been granted at your preferred school.

If you would like to track the progress of your school place application, or if you have been asked to provide more information, you can track the progress or provide more information online.

If you're applying after the closing date, your application will be processed after all the on-time requests have been dealt with. This means your preferred school may be full by the time we process your application and, for this reason, we recommend that you name more than one preference when applying.
Late applications will be considered together, regardless of date received, against the oversubscription criteria detailed in the Denbighshire Schools guide.
If you make any amendments to an on-time application after the closing date, we will consider this as a new application which will replace anything previously received and will be recorded as late.
