Apply for a council garage

We have a number of garages available for rent across Denbighshire. These are for private use, to store a vehicle.

You must not use a council garage for business purposes.

Anyone can rent a garage from us; you don’t have to be a council tenant.

How do I apply for a council garage?

You can apply to rent a garage from us by completing an application form and returning it to us at the address on the form. You can specify up to 5 areas where you would like a garage.

When we receive your application, we will put your name on the waiting list, and will let you know when a garage becomes available. We allocate garages according to the waiting list, and give preference to those who have been waiting longest.

How much does it cost?

Rent is charged weekly. Anyone can rent a garage from us, but the rent is slightly lower for council tenants;

Garage (for council tenants) - £7.33 per week

Garage (for non-council tenants) - £8.80 per week

How do I end my garage tenancy?

If you want to give up your garage, please give us two weeks' notice in writing.

Write to us at:

Housing Services,
Denbighshire County Council,
PO Box 62,
Ruthin,
LL15 9AZ

When you give us back the keys the garage should be empty and swept through. Please note there will be a charge if we have to clear it for you.
