Changes to Planning and Statutory Pre-Application fees from 1 December 2025

The Welsh Government has shared the following guidance letter to all Local Planning Authorities in Wales:

About planning application fees 

Most planning applications or requests for consent require a fee. The amount you pay depends on the type and size of the development. Some applications do not need a fee. Others may have a reduced fee. This depends on the type of application and your circumstances.

Planning fees from 1 December 2025

From 1 December 2025, updated fees will apply to:

• planning applications
• amendments
• deemed applications
• site visits
