There are charges for our address-related services, which include:

  • changing the name of an existing property
  • adding a name to a numbered property
  • updating addresses following a property merge or division
  • registering a new address for a single new-build dwelling
  • registering new addresses for multiple new-build dwellings
  • registering new streets
  • requesting an official address confirmation letter

How to apply

We strongly recommend you contact us to discuss your application before applying to make sure it can be processed before payment is made.

Please review our street naming and numbering policy before making an application. Our team are also happy to discuss any other address-related questions you may have.

Request your address service online

If you have a portal account or sign up for one, you can save your progress and submit your application later.

Applications will only be accepted from the freeholder of the property in question. If you are an agent acting on behalf of the freeholder, evidence of permission to act on their behalf must be submitted within the application.

Where applicable, applications should only be made after planning consent has been granted and work on site has commenced. Utility companies will not install services without an official postal address and postcode.

VAT is not applicable for these charges.

These charges are applied on a cost-recovery basis for the administration of discretionary street naming and numbering related services and will be reviewed on an annual basis.
