Senedd Cymru Elections

Senedd Cymru represents all of the people of Wales. There are 60 Members of the Senedd (MS) representing 40 constituencies and 5 regions across Wales. MS divide their time between work in Cardiff and local work in the area they represent.

Denbighshire has 3 MS, one each for the Vale of Clwyd, Clwyd South and Clwyd West. There are also 4 Regional Members for the North Wales Electoral Region, who are elected to represent North Wales as a whole.

Important dates

Nominations to stand as a candidate in any Senedd Constituency or Region close at 5pm on Thursday, 8 April 2021.

The deadline to register to vote is 19 April 2021.

Voting

To vote in a senedd election you must be:

  • registered to vote
  • 16 years of age or over on polling day
  • a British citizen, an Irish, Commonwealth, European Union citizen or foreign citizen who has leave to enter or remain in the UK, or who does not require such leave.
  • not be subject to any legal incapacity to vote
