What it is

• Political astuteness
• An awareness of how others may see you and interpret your behaviour and how you use this information to anticipate and understand their behaviour and viewpoint
• Sensitivity in handling negotiations and in managing conflict
• The ability to gain commitment without holding or exercising direct authority
