Replacement Local Development Plan: Candidate Sites
The opportunity to submit candidate sites for consideration in the replacement Denbighshire Local Development Plan (LDP) 2018 - 2033 has now closed. Anyone wishing to have a site considered that has not already been received will need to submit a duly made representation at the Deposit consultation stage. This is likely to take place in late 2022.
Between the 6th August and the 26th November 2018 the Council invited interested parties to submit land for consideration to be included in Denbighshire’s next Local Development Plan 2018 – 2033 (LDP). Candidate Sites were sought to address the demand for a range of land uses such as housing/ residential, employment, retail & leisure etc.
Local Development Plan (LDP): Covid-19 update
We are working to progress background technical evidence for Denbighshire’s Replacement LDP, but the current Covid-19 crisis is impacting decision-making, public engagement and fieldwork, so we will have to revise the timetable for the Replacement LDP set out in our Delivery Agreement
We will revise the Delivery Agreement when we know more about the restrictions being lifted.
A total of 203 submissions were received by the Council; focussing primarily on residential use. Every candidate site received an individual site reference number and is listed by settlement in the Candidate Site Register. The fact that a candidate site has been included in the register must not be interpreted as a commitment by the Council to take forward this site into the next LDP.
Details on the site schedule and initial assessment work carried out by the Council can be found here.

Below you can find a list of all settlements from where sites have been received. Clicking on the settlement name opens a new document showing site details, including a location map.
Please note that if a settlement cannot be found in the list below this means that the Council did not receive any proposal from this particular area.
