Attendance management

The council expects good attendance from all its employees and values your health and welfare.

It is also recognised that there may be times when you will not be well enough to attend work.

In summary your main responsibilities are:

  • to come to work unless you are not well enough to do so
  • if you cannot attend work you must notify your line manager as soon as possible and always no more than one hour after you were due to start work
  • if you are absent from work for eight days or more (including Saturdays and Sundays), you will have to provide a Doctor’s statement
